Celestine is a lawyer with experience in different areas but has recently focused on family law and immigration law after her articles in a downtown Edmonton law firm. She works with clients to find solutions to highly confidential and personal issues such as separation, divorce, parenting and, child support.
In the case of child protection, she deals with parents whose children have been taken away from them and assist them to address the government’s concerns so that they could have their children back. She also has experience working with indigenous clients which helps her appreciate the importance of cultural values in the placement of apprehended children. Celestine has appeared before Justices at the Alberta Court of Justice and Court of Kings Bench.
With regards to refugee claims, Celestine is knowledgeable about how to work with clients who are fleeing from persecution in their home countries and seeking protection in Canada. She takes her time to review all support documents with claimants and disclosures from the
Refugee Protection Board.
Prior to relocating to Canada, Celestine did extensive work in ethics and compliance for twelve years in Ghana. She was called to the Ghana bar in 2017 where she gained experience in contract reviews, debt recovery, employment and labour law. Given the nature
of her work, she interacted with people from different countries and cultures. Through this exposure, she gained respect for diversity and adopts it in every aspect of her work.
Celestine is passionate about her clients and gives her best as they go through their challenging times. She adopts a client centred approach by involving the client in every decision-making process to achieve practical solutions without excessive costs and emotional harm.
